OUT

Sorry VT fans... the Hokies choked themselves out of the NCAA tournament yet again. You have to think that we were probably the first team left out of the tournament. Teams like Utah State and Florida got into the tournament over us. Really, Florida? Is Minnesota better than Tech? No way. At any rate, the Hokies had a great chance to get themselves in, but blew it against an inferior Miami team. Let's hope we can win the NIT and show the committee wrong instead of bowing out early like last season.

Go Hokies!

P.S. If you are up for a good laugh, check out Utah State's schedule. Their best win was against BYU at home, and they didn't beat a single other team that would have gotten an NCAA at-large bid. Nice!

Florida and California are the two teams that leave me scratching my head. Neither of those teams deserved to get in over us. California has a much higher RPI, but that just shows what a sham that statistic is. The best team they beat was Washington, and that was their ONLY Top 50 win. At least Utah St went 2-1 against the Top 50 and 10-5 against the Top 100.

well im thought we were a lock based on 10-6 in the acc. there are many teams i wonder how they got in over us. Wake is one for sure. Florida and Cal also are ones. There are more but im not too burnt out from this to care.

Eric, I definitely agree that those inclusions are absurd, but my beef is still with Utah State. RPI is a complete joke, so I just throw it out altogether. Wichita State isn't even considered to have been on the bubble for the tournament, so what does their top-50 RPI mean? Apparently it doesn't mean anything. That leaves BYU as their only "good" win, and they did it at home. Oh, and if you do think RPI matters, their bad losses are much worse than VT's. #157 Utah and #111 Long Beach. We had a loss to #125 BC on the road, and guess what? Our 2 losses to Miami aren't bad losses anymore... they are #99. So we have 1 bad loss and 3 top-50 wins, which shows me we can play with the other teams in the league, but we're sitting at home. Makes perfect sense.

Whoops, I didn't mean "league" I meant "NCAA tournament".
